Part-Time Prep/Pantry Cook

Basilico Ristorante is seeking a part-time Pantry Cook, who could also do several hours of prep during the week, including making pasta, bread, and a few desserts, as well as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, etc. During the dinner service, this person would be responsible for preparing salads and dessert plates on the line. The schedule has a little bit of flexibility, but Fridays and Saturdays would be required for dinner service; one other week day can be negotiated. While we love and greatly appreciate those with skills and experience, we also value those seeking to expand their skills and knowledge and are open to providing a fair amount of training.

Job Requirements:
-At least one year of experience in a kitchen, with preferably some experience in a scratch kitchen.
-Proven record of responsible employment and reliability.
-Curiosity, and a desire to learn.
-Strength in working within a team.
-Flexibility, and coolness under pressure.

Helpful, but not required:
-Experience baking bread, or making desserts
-Strong knife skills
-Knowledge of the Italian language.
-Experience on a line.

This position pays $16.24-18/hour DOE, as well as a percentage of the Service Charge as a bonus on each paycheck. Basilico Ristorante pays 1.5 hours of sick leave for every 40 hours worked, and 1 week of vacation time after one year of employment.
