Kitchen Manager

Basilico Ristorante is seeking a Full-Time Kitchen Manager. This person is the direct supervisor of the kitchen staff three total full and part-time employees, responsible for training, and quality control, and will work on the line most nights of the week. Menu creation, specials, and new dishes are created in collaboration with the business owner. Other responsibilities include, tracking and managing inventory, creating shopping lists, cleaning schedules, and ensuring health and safety regulations are met.

Basilico Ristorante is open Tuesday - Saturday for dinner, and occasionally on Sundays or Mondays for holidays or special events. We specialize in traditional (or close to it) European-Italian cuisine, handmade pasta, and a full gluten-free menu.

This position pays $20-$25/hour (DOE), plus a percentage of the Service Charge to the kitchen staff, offer vacation time after one year, and we pay 1.5 hours of sick leave per 40 hours worked (greater than state requirements).

Qualifications:

* At least 5 years of experience, or equivalent education, with at least one year in a leadership position.

* Knowledge of health and safety standards and regulations.

* Strong team building skills, and proven ability to delegate out tasks appropriately.

* Experience with Italian cuisine technique (as opposed to french or italian-american), and/or willingness to research and learn new styles.

* Strong communication skills.

*Speed, efficiency and organization.

Helpful, but not required:

* Knowledge of bread baking and/or pasta making

* Experience with pastries or desserts

* Familiarity with the Italian language

Server

Basilico Ristorante is seeking an experienced server to work 4-5 nights per week for our dinner service. This person would work Tuesday through Saturday with the option of taking one weeknight off. Also, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, Valentine's Day, and Mother's Day are required for all employees on whichever day of the week they fall.

Our team works closely together to provide a lovely dining experience for our guests, and we are specifically seeking people who will communicate well with front of the house, back of the house, and our customers. Wine knowledge is a plus, and experience making cocktails is also useful, as our servers are also their own bartenders.

In addition to minimum wage plus tips, Basilico offers 50% more sick leave than required by the state.
